At the ISTA research campus, another laboratory building was added to expand capacity in the area of ​​cutting-edge research with the I24. The building and the technical building equipment meet the requirements of the “Klimaaktiv Gold” certification standard. The building contains laboratory areas up to biological safety level 2, with partial preparation for an expansion to safety level 3.

The heat recovery of the laboratory ventilation units takes place using a highly efficient composite circuit system. Among other things, the heat contained in the exhaust air flow of the special exhaust ventilation is used by means of a plastic heat exchanger to pre-condition the outside air. For resource-saving building operation via the building management system, a high standard of instrumentation is included in the building for recording the controlled variables, measured values ​​and data points of the individual room control.
